Self-employed entrepreneur and limited right to work during application procedure
The Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) published a new regulation on December 28, 2023 for self-employed individuals awaiting a decision on their residence application.
Self-employed individuals who have applied for a residence permit as a self-employed person, or an extension thereof, can continue their activities under certain conditions until the IND has made a decision.
However, new applicants are no longer allowed to work during the procedure, unless they do not work for a direct client. This is an important change that has a major impact on the position of the self-employed and the chances of granting the permit.
